Who wants peanuts and cracker jacks!? Or better yet, a cake all to yourself? This big boy sure does! I was so happy to see Garrett back in the studio for his first birthday cake smash session. He grew up so fast in one year since his newborn session. With a long history of baseball and softball in the family, it was only natural for this Columbus, Ohio cake smash session to take us out to the ball game!
His mama opted for a vintage, rustic baseball vibe that takes you back to the days of Babe Ruth. To design the set, I used two 5×7 mat wood floors from Fancy Fabrics for the floor and backdrop. For the vintage sign, I took a picture of a custom wood sign a friend of mine had. I then edited the image in Photoshop so that it included some personal touches for the family, and then had the image printed. I found this super cute vintage baseball outfit that I knew would be the perfect touch. The best part? The number three was his mamas jersey number growing up, high school, and into college! With everything set and in place, I was more than ready for his vintage baseball cake smash.
Garrett is not a shy kiddo, and he was more than happy to smash into the baseball cake his mama made for him. I wish I had video of him making all his “mmmm!!!!!” sounds. It was completely adorable! I hope you enjoy a few of my favorite captures from his cake smash session!
