Brandon and I met in 2002 and married in 2004. We have one daughter who was a total miracle, and we haven't ever been able to have more children since. We count our blessings every day for her. We bought a small farm in 2015 knowing it might hurt my photography business because people see our address and instantly think we are on the other side of the world.
But, it was a risk we were willing to take in hopes that we would build a life we had only dreamed about. It's a lot of early mornings, muddy boots, moving 40lb feed bags and straw or hay bales, weed pulling, garden tending, sweaty everything, dirty hands, and a whole bunch of sweet animals to love and spoil. We weren't sure how we would like this life. But, we absolutely love it! Our hope is to become as sustainable as possible, and maybe even teach others along the way of what they can do even in their own backyards.
Our daughter Maddy is heavily involved in 4-H.
She'll also be starting FFA soon! She won Grand Champion market turkey several years as well as Grand Champion Bantam and Heritage Breed Turkey and several other categories in poultry as well. She loves teaching younger kids how to ethically and humanely raise farm animals and learning about sustainable and regenerative farming.
My husband and I personally understand and connect with how treasured this beautiful time is in your lives. After being told we would never have children of our own, experiencing loss and a lot of heartache, we miraculously became pregnant with our daughter in 2007. We savored and soaked up every one of her tiny details, and were left with many joyful tears at how perfect this little miracle was in our lives. No matter your story and journey to having your own little miracle, it is one worth celebrating and capturing well for generations to come. I can't wait to welcome you and your family here!
