Having photographed over 650 newborns since 2017, my approach to newborn portraits is to combine professional, creative artistry with poses that are mindful of your little one's anatomy and physiology. Your little one's safety and comfort are of the utmost importance to me. The simplistic, classic approach I use in poses and props ensures that your portraits will be focused solely on your little one.
Whomever you chose as a newborn photographer will be one of the very first people to ever hold your little one or be so close to them. It is incredibly important to me that you have the opportunity to personally ask questions, voice concerns, and get to know me before you ever commit to something as important as who is working so intimately with your brand new, precious baby.
An electronically signed contract and $100 non-refundable retainer are required to secure your due date on the calendar. This is applied to the balance of your session. Due dates are used solely as a reference point of baby's anticipated arrival. A limited number of due dates are scheduled per month. Newborn sessions are scheduled once baby arrives during morning hours Monday - Friday within the first 21 days of life.
Everything is provided for your session and is styled and planned with your color preferences in mind. You are more than welcome to be near to watch or choose to relax on our sofa. I follow baby's lead on what we can comfortably and safely pose. There are typically breaks for baby to eat, soothe, or diaper changes. Because of this, I recommend families plan to be here at the studio 2-3 hours. Snacks and drinks are provided.
Investing into this exceptionally important milestone requires a lot of trust. Trust that your precious little one is in highly qualified, experienced care. Trust that the environment you bring your little one into is clean and safe. Trust that your investment of time and finances meets, possibly exceeds, your expectation of quality and will last generations. When families choose to invest in me, they can rest assured that I, in turn, am investing all of myself into every single image and the experience families have at the studio.
The mama of this sweet baby boy found me on Instagram (which is where almost half of my session inquiries come from. Although she lives in Dublin, Ohio, about a 40-minute drive from my newborn photography studio in London, Ohio, she knew I was the right person to capture this baby boy newborn photo session for her and didn't mind a bit of a trip.
It was fantastic to see this family again and catch up on how they've been. I've know them for quite a while as I photographed her parents' engagement session and wedding several years ago when I was a wedding photographer. Mom and Dad didn't want the traditional pink and white color scheme for this baby girl newborn photography session. Instead, they chose some beautiful, rich, non-traditional colors which I absolutely loved!
Planning the colors for Baby J’s session was easy for her parents. They chose to incorporate their wedding colors navy and blush with hints of cream. Shades of blue are my very favorite for baby girls! I was incredibly excited at the opportunity to use them. Here are just a few of my favorites from her newborn session.
One of the highlights of what I do is the opportunity to meet new families! It's also very important to me to connect with you and make sure that I am the right fit for you and your little one. Reach out today to receive my full newborn portrait pricing guide.
